1. Our festival wedding DJs get some blog love from brilliant Festival Brides…

   Here at Disco Wed we DJ at weddings and festivals, so reckon we offer the closest thing to festival wedding DJ services possible! So you can imagine how pleased we were to find a blog called Festival Brides! We contacted them to tell them about us and were even more pleased when they told us they liked our Disco Shed so much there were going to feature us on the blog! 2. We love EWE 2 – 24th March, Fazeley Studios, Birmingham

   We were lucky enough to be invited to exhibit at the first, absolutely brilliant Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza (EWE) back in November. There aren’t enough superlatives and I don’t want to resort to hyperbole as it’s impossible to describe how utterly fantastic it was. But until this event, I’d kinda been hoping we could go to fewer and fewer wedding shows as, whilst they are a undoubtedly a great way to meet prospective couples (and we’ve met and played for some lovely people we’ve met at events), the traditional format of most wedding fayres often just feels old-fashioned and tired, and not really in keeping with what we aspire towards here at Disco Wed. However, EWE single-handedly completely restored my faith in shows, even injecting me with enough enthusiasm me to look again at the more traditional wedding fayre, if only until the next EWE comes around! 3. Wedding DJ at Layer Marney Tower, Essex

   We met Ian and Caroline at a wedding fair, and they subsequently booked us to be their wedding DJ, opting for our DJ only set-up. This was the first trip to Layer Marney Tower in Essex for Disco Wed and I’d been looking forward to seeing the place in the flesh, as it were. I’d seen brochures for the venue at various tourist information spots – it looks spectacular and it bills itself as one of the country’s most dramatic buildings. It was built in tudor times and visited by both Henry VIII and Elizabeth I (look, I was a history student so I like this stuff, ok?! 😎 ) and more recently by lovely Fiona Bruce and the Antique’s Roadshow team. 4. Wedding DJ and our indoor Disco Shed at Hertfordshire’s Priory Barn

   My main memories of the day I spent as a wedding DJ at Priory Barn in Hertfordshire are of beautiful people and beautiful surroundings! The venue was apparently recently voted as the 21st best wedding venue in the UK by Brides magazine, and whilst I can be a bit cynical about things like awards and chart placements (particularly when the list appears to be grouped by regions rather than being a straight run-down!), it’s certainly a lovely looking place both inside and out, with gorgeous gardens, manicured lawns and set in very pretty countryside. These memories are no doubt aided by a particularly good set of photos taken by Andy Rapkins who has kindly allowed me to share them here.
